Samuel - we lose such a special cat.

Seven years ago we were lucky enough to have these darling cats
born in our barn.
Their mother was wild so she went and we looked after them.

Samuel and Jacob when little.

Very sadly Jacob was killed when he was just about 18 months old.

Samuel missed his twin brother but gradually Tortue, another one
of our other cats, became almost a mother to him.
They shared the same chair at night time and would gently
wash each other.

On Tuesday we lost Samuel, just seven years old.
He was very ill and we he went peacefully.
When we brought him home from the vets we put his
darling body on the chair which he always
shared with Tortue.
Without prompting she got on the chair, gently
licked him and stayed by him until
we took him to bury him next to Jacob.

As I write this I am in tears and Tortue has looked again
on their chair but he's not there.
The chair stays empty but our hearts are full
of the happiness that Samuel gave us and so
many others.
Everyone loved him and he loved everyone too.
As one of our friends said, he was adorable.

  1. Oh Diane I am so very very sorry xxx it is just the same as loosing a family member, just as heart breaking, just as sickening in your heart,I can totally understand your total desolation.
    I am thinking of you
    Love Lynn xxx

  2. Dear Diane,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your lovely four-legged friend. Beautiful cats and beautiful photos. I can only imagine how empty that chair must be without Samuel now.

You asked me about my floral pen in my last post. Yes, it is ink,a cheap one, but unfortunately I can't tell you where I got it as I just can't remember, I'm afraid. I have had it for years, most likely bought it when I was still living in Sweden more than seven years ago. Sorry!

    Warm regards,

  3. This is my first visit to your blog and i feel i cannot leave without saying how very sorry i am for your loss.
