Blue and white Burleigh ware.

When I was in England I went to buy some of my favourite pottery near Burslem.
Middleport Pottery, a grade 2 listed building set on the banks of the Trent & Mersey canal, which has been the home of Burleigh since 1889.

They continue to use the original machinery and processes, each item is handmade from earthenware.

These transfers are printed on tissue from wonderful copper rollers.

It is one of the last remaining potteries in the world to use the traditional and timeless skill of underglaze tissue printing which is a two hundred year old English process.

Each time I go and bring back some more blue and white pieces.
